Thesis Reflection

Course Reflection

Over the course of the last academic year, I have had the great experience of working through the AE senior thesis.  The skills I learned by taking on a project larger than what had previously been experienced at Penn State gave me vital insights into what the future holds for me, both as an engineer and a person.  I learned a great deal about how certain structural systems interact with the project design, and learned what some good methods are for design, as well as methods that are not as useful.  While it was not always easy, it was an experience that I think rounds out five productive academic years here, and is something I will always look back on, no matter what the future holds.

Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Edward Colligon. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
